Everything you always wanted to know about self-publishing but didn’t know who (or what) to ask!

Who should self-publishes?

  • Professionals
  • Sales People
  • Entrepreneurs
  • Teachers
  • Business People
  • Housewives

In short anyone can self-publish

With the onset and growing demand for self-publishing and print-on-demand, even the large publishing houses have been impacted. There are several reasons why self-publishing may be the best way for you to publish your book. Why? There was a time when the only well-known thought leaders, historians, scientist, top business people, etc. could become published authors but that’s no longer the case.

There were rules that almost made it impossible for the average person to publish a book but With the change of technology and new business models like Amazon, the entire publishing industry has changed.

Some may argue the point that not much has changed in traditional publishing but they would have to agree that there are fewer traditional publishers and fewer bookstores. The digital age along with print-on-demand book publishing is a growing industry.

Manuscript

I know first-hand how difficult it can be to become a published author, especially when you don’t know the correct questions to ask! In 2003 I wrote a book that I wanted to publish but didn’t know who or what questions to ask to get it published.

Every new endeavor begins with questions but my immediate need could not be reached until I found someone who had the answers. Unfortunately, because I didn’t know, I had no clue what the right questions were and as a result the book did not get published until 2005.

Through circumstance I met a publisher who helped me with my manuscript in 2003 but because the publisher’s business model was faulty, they were unable to complete the publishing and my manuscript remained unpublished. Needless to say by the time I realized the problem, I had already spent a great deal of money with this independent publisher. Through another set of circumstances, I was given the name of a print-on-demand on-line publishing company. This company had the resource to not only complete the publishing of my book but to distribute it through various means including Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other places on-line.

It was through this experience that I began to study the business of self-publishing. From that point until now I have gained a great deal of knowledge about the publishing business, traditional and non-traditional. This workshop/teleseminar/webinar is designed to help you avoid some of the pitfalls that I encountered and to set you on a clear path to self-publishing your book.

What you’ll learn:

Why you want to be an author.

The truth about being an author.

What role marketing plays.

The players you need to know.

Which type of publisher is best for you.
